Product Description
GS-441524 is a plasma metabolite of the antiviral prodrug remdesivir that has a half-life of 24 hours in humans. It has been found to be effective in fighting off feline coronavirus strains, responsible for the lethal disease feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), in in vitro tests.
FIP is caused by an immune defect or deficiency which causes white blood cells to replicate the virus as opposed to fighting it. Those cats whose immune system is not able to fight the virus, develop into wet FIP, while those who have a partial immune response develop dry FIP.
GS441524 is a nucleoside analog that acts as an alternative substrate and chain terminator. In simple terms, it interrupts the chain reaction of the virus, stopping its replication. This powerful nucleoside is proving to be a promising drug in combating this deadly infection in cats.

Q&A
How long is the treatment?
The recommended duration of treatment is 12 weeks. However, the actual duration of treatment may depend on many factors such as how quickly your cat responds to treatment, the degree of FIP infection when you start treatment, and your personal financial condition.
Can GS-441524 be used in combination with other drugs?
Yes, GS is an antiviral treatment, and can be used in conjunction with other medications to improve your cat's overall health. However, Lysine is not recommended for use in conjunction with GS. Fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics and flea treatments should be avoided during FIP treatment. Interferon has no effect on the treatment of FIP virus.
What should I feed my cat during FIP treatment?
Freshly cooked fish, poultry and natural foods. If your cat has diarrheas, consider switching to dry cat food for a few days until the diarrheas stops.
